Preventative Health Check Programs

Preventative Health Checks form a vital component of preventative health care. Introduce “Preventative Health Checks” on a monthly or quarterly basis and make content topical to climatic or seasonal changes. You may wish to time your Preventative Health Checks to coincide with various health organisations’ awareness weeks or promotional days.

The summer season is an appropriate time to offer preventative health checks for skin cancer and reinforcing the importance of  “slip, slop, slap”! And the winter season is the ideal time to educate your patients on cold and flu prevention and re-enforce influenza vaccination, particularly for those most vulnerable like the elderly and those with a compromised immune system.

Preventative Health Checks are more effective and compound awareness in patients if done on a regular basis; so consider monthly or bi-monthly health checks.

Do you feel you are already overloaded with patient appointments and your practice or surgery can’t cope with the additional load? Consider the benefits of employing a registered nurse to conduct the checks on your behalf.

MediDirect International’s preventative health check program is an easy no-fuss way for your practice to undertake preventative health checks on a regular basis with maximum patient participation. Your practice or surgery will be provided with pre-promotional flyers 3 weeks prior to ensure maximum patient bookings and will include a separate booking sheet. 6 or 12 month programmes will include an additional promotional calendar.  Patients with questionable results will be re-scheduled with an appointment for further investigation, diagnosis and treatment from the doctor.

Some areas you may wish to consider for your practice’s preventative health check program are diabetes, breast cancer, vaccinations, blood pressure, cholesterol, colon cancer, heart disease, stress, depression, HIV/aids, asthma, hearing tests, eyesight testing.

Your preventative Health Check program can be printed and delivered to your practice or surgery, or you have the option to receive the program via email or disc ready to print.
